Operation: Winter Warmth
Operation Winter Warmth 2012 is going on NOW at any Whatcom County Haggen location. Just drop off any new (or gently used) coats, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, etc. to be distributed to local families and kids in need through local non-profit and charitable organizations (such as The Opportunity Council). Donation bins will be in place until Saturday, February 4th.
We'll make sure that all of the donations are picked up. Our friends at Sparkle Cleaners on W. Bakerview, next to Fred Meyer, will take care of the cleaning of the first 500 coats. From there, the donations will be stored courtesy of Pantec Mini Storage, on The Guide in Bellingham, while they are distributed.
Last year was a HUGE success with nearly 1600 coats donated. But the need for warmth is still there. Thanks for your donations to Operation: Winter Warmth 2012.
